FNTI Bucking Gender Inequity Trend in Postsecondary            August 8, 2019 (Tyendinaga Mohawk Territory, Ont.) -- Whereas women’s knowledge and skill sets continue to be underutilized and underrepresented in Canada’s post-secondary sector, First Nations Technical Institute (FNTI) reports that well more than half of its workforce is female.   Sixty-four per cent of the institute’s overall employees are comprised of women, with 76 per cent of the leadership and management team being female and 55 per cent of faculty being women. FNTI Completing Greenhouse Build to Support Indigenous Food Systems Degree August 6, 2019        (Tyendinaga Mohawk Territory, Ont.) -- The First Nations Technical Institute is constructing a greenhouse to support its new Indigenous Food System degree.  The greenhouse structure, which was specifically created for FNTI’s purposes by DeCloet Greenhouse Manufacturing Ltd. -- a leading North American greenhouse designer and manufacturer out of Simcoe, Ont. -- is being built at the Airport Road Campus over a three-week period.   The build was specifically conceived to support the new standalone Bachelor of Science in Indigenous Food Systems

FNTI Hosts Indigenous Youth Ambassador Program July 30, 2019              (Tyendinaga Mohawk Territory, Ont.) -- Close to 20 youth began the four-week Youth Ambassador Program at the First Nations Technical Institute yesterday.  The FNTI Haudenosaunee Ambassador Program is an opportunity that cultivates young leaders, aged 17-24, through cultural, personal and professional training.   Program themes will be carried out by community leaders and cultural keepers, and include teachings based on Indigenous Knowledge, as well as event coordination and leadership development.  Youth attend full-day camp at
