Suzanne Katsi'tsiarihshion Brant,

M.E.S, I.M.C, P.H.C.P

Suzanne is Mohawk, Bear clan, from the Tyendinaga Mohawk Territory situated on the Bay of Quinte. She is recognized as a traditional health educator. Suzanne graduated from the Institute of Integrated Medicine as an Integrated Medical Clinician. She has a Masters in Environmental Studies from York University.

Her focus over the past 20 years has been around the preservation of Indigenous knowledge. Her interests include traditional uses of medicinal plants and the role culture plays in the preservation of the natural environment. She is certified as a Preventative Health Care Practitioner in the science of functional medicine practicing the modalities of herbology, iridology, nutrition, aromatherapy, meridian therapy and homeopathy. Suzanne is currently working with FNTI as the Indigenous Health and Environment Manager.

Her duties include supervising instruction staff; providing leadership for program development; writing and monitoring grants; serving as project manager for a variety of projects; developing and teaching courses; developing and teaching professional development workshops. Suzanne is a member of the Haudenosaunee Environmental Task Force and formerly served on the Board of Governors for St. Lawrence College.

Norma Gaihowhakohn General,

Cultural Educator

Norma is Cayuga, Wolf clan, from the Grand River Territory of Six Nations. She holds a certificate from George Brown College in Human Services. Norma is recognized as a knowledgeable traditional resource and educator focusing on Haudenosaunee culture. Over the past 40 years her focus has been on Indigenous knowledge and how it manifests and shapes our relationships to one another and to Creation. She has managed Awehaode Communication Cultural Programs for the past 8 years. Norma is currently instructing for FNTI in the Indigenous Community Health Approaches program.

Richard Hill Jr.,

MA

Rick Hill is Tuscarora, Beaver clan, from Grand River Territory of the Six Nations. Rick is well known as a cultural educator and holds a Masters in American Studies from State University of New York. Rick was employed at SUNY, Buffalo for 20 years and has also instructed at Mohawk College, Six Nations Polytechnic and FNTI. He is currently the Chairperson for the Haudenosaunee Standing Committee on Repatriation and a Museum Consultant. Rick also served as Director of Public Programs for the National Museum of the American Indian, Smithsonian Institution, Washington D.C. for 5 years. Rick was honoured with the Aboriginal Institutes Consortium "2006 Faculty Achievement Award" for teaching excellence.
