You will gain a working knowledge of the law, criminology, victimology and human behaviour. Benefit from practical workshops, and a field placement component. Applied workshops include conflict resolution, mental health and addictions, suicide prevention and forensics. This comprehensive training will give you the skills you need to work in the fields of youth justice, restorative justice and adult corrections. This program has a foundation in Indigenous justice practices and the curriculum is interfaced with Indigenous knowledge and culture, with an Elder in the circle at all times.
The program includes a 200-hour field placement component that can be completed anywhere in Canada!
Topics studied include: Criminal law and procedures, abnormal psychology, community program development and intervention, case management techniques, interviewing and counselling techniques, special needs and diverse client groups, human behaviour and mental health.

ADMISSION REQUIREMENTS
Ontario Secondary School Diploma or equivalent, including Grade 12 English (ENG4C or ENG4U).
