Second year FNTI Aviation student Doris Ipeelee

speaking at the first ever Canadian Aviation mentoring

event for LGBTQ+ youth.

Second year FNTI Aviation student Doris Ipeelee was part of history this past weekend. On Sunday March 24th, Doris along with other LGBTQ+ aviators and pilots, gathered at the Jazz Aviation hangar in Toronto.

The youth mentoring event hosted by Jazz Aviation and the Canadian Centre for Gender and Sexual Diversity aimed to motivate and inspire LGBTQ+ youth to consider entering the field of aviation.

"It was an amazing experience," said Ipeelee. "Very enlightening and it brought a feeling of togetherness from the LGBTQ+ community in aviation."

FNTI, Canadian Aviation Pride, Jazz Aviation, Northern Lights Aero Foundation, COPA, Porter, Air Canada, Seneca College, Sunwing and others all came together to make this fantastic event possible.

The event was well received and very much appreciated, and Canadian Aviation pride says they hope to run it again in years to come.
